Teacher and volunteer positions in Minnesota YuCai Chinese School

The Minnesota Yucai Chinese School is a non-profit organization. It serves for the school age kids and/or adults to learn Chinese (mandarin), mathematics, arts, dancing, etc. in the twin cities and metro area. YuCai Chinese School is seeking for teachers and volunteers who can work part-time on Saturday. To apply, please submit your resume to yucaimn@yahoo.com . Qualifications for Teachers:

  • Strong passion to contribute to the Chinese language/culture education
  • Excellent mandarin
  • Effective instruction and student management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in teaching Chinese, Mathematics, Arts, Music, dancing, and/or Chinese history and culture is preferred
  • Area of focus or experience in education is preferred
  • Bachelor degree or above is preferred
  • Computer skills with using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and/or Adobe is preferred
  • Fluent in English is an addition

Qualifications for Volunteers:

  • With passion to contribute to the Chinese language/culture education
  • Parents and middle school and high school students are more than welcomed
  • Effective students, parents, and teacher communication
  • Exceptional collaboration skills
  • Be able to commit to the task assigned
  • Fluent in Chinese and/or English is preferred
  • With one or more of the following skills is preferred:
    • Superior verbal and/or written skills in Chinese and/or English
    • Web development/design skills
    • Special event planning
    • Computer skills with using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and/or Adobe is preferred
    • Other unique talent not listed above

Yucai is a Certifying Organization of the President’s volunteer Service Award. The President’s Volunteer Service Award is issued by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, created by President George W. Bush to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers make to our nation. Please check https://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/ for award criteria.

To apply for the 2021 President’s Volunteer Service Award, students need to submit volunteer hours served over a 12-month period (January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021) to yucaivolunteer@gmail.com by January 31, 2022.

If you include volunteer hours NOT earned through Yucai Chinese School, you MUST have the name of the adult volunteer supervisor (not parent), his/her signature or official documentation verifying the hours served, and correct phone number and email address.

Applicants who will be receiving the award will be notified by email in late March of 2022. Awards will be presented at the Yucai year-end celebration in June 2022.
